  1. Another E . Concise and clear
  2. Another C Eliminate D and E. E - Awkward D - S-v Error A - I would prefer which instead of who Uzbekistan is the only nation which sided.. who generally refers to a person. B- They???? So C
  3. IMO D I dont think it is E. Because The honeybee's stinger is X and Y, and the result that the act causes XXXX We dont need a 'with'. 'With' is used to mean association. Between C and D. C is logical to me but looks like it changes the meaning of the sentence. The honeybee's stinger, , results in the fact that stinging causes the bee to die The honeybees stinger does not cause the act, but the fact that the honeybee's stinger stays in place causes the act .... D, Correctly uses an additive . It is the best of the lot, even though it looks awkward. The honeybee's stinger XXXX , and results in the act causing the bee to die. Causing the bee to die clearly modifies the act.
  4. A,C,E have obvious errors. between B and D. B will be correct if the sentence is they use X to decide on Y. decide should be in the infinitive form. and decide on is an idiom. That leaves only D
  5. IMO D The increased popularity and availability of televisions has led to the decline of regional dialects, language variations which originate from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated by geographic isolation. (A) which originate from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated (B) that originated from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated © originated from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated (D) originating from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuated (E) originating from diverse ethnic and cultural heritages and perpetuating Just reading the structure. X has led to the decline of Y originating from Z and (a decline that) perpetuated ..... I agree with DJ valenteno. I think present participle should be used because present perfect tense is used.
  6. IMO A B,C S-V error. Yields. C - is awkward - trenches having been cut E - trenches cut into a 500 acre site. This changes the meaning of the sentence.
  7. Why not B? If cosmetics is the only cause for the decline, and there is law which does not allow the tree in cosmetics. Therefore decline should have an alternate cause, not mentioned here. So conclusion is not correct. C The law has not been working, because there has been a decline, even with the law in place. So there is no gaurentee that having the law will help protecting the trees against increased demand. B defines that the argument is one dimensional
  8. I am trying to jump start this thread. IMO D Because if whales had any other means of surviving in salt water , then it would not explain why they came back to freash water after slat water trips. Please contribute
  9. X^2+y^2= [25a^2 +1+10a + 5b^2+9+30b]/2 = [25a^2+10a+5b^2+30b+10]/2 = [25a^2+5b^2+10a+30b]/2 + 5 How do you say the first term is divisible by 2. it can be divisible only when a and b are equal or a and b are even or when one is odd and one is even.
  10. 2. -5x 5x>14y x>2.8y 3x>7y x>2.3y ???? IMO B
  11. 1. 2(10+b) =80 2. 8x= 80 Imo D
  12. P only + FI only + Both P and FI + NO P and FI = 30 1. 9 +3+12+ NO P and FI =30 2. 24 + No P and FI =30 IMO D
  13. IMO E 1. r is closer to s than to t 2. r is closer to s and what s is to t cond. C- r is closer to s than to t and also what s is to t Insuffecient conditions IMO E
  14. my version x-y = 5a+1 x+y=5b+3 x^2 + y^2 = 1/2[(x+y)^2 + (x-y)^2] 1/2[(C+9)+(D+1))= [C+D]/2 + 5 IMO E
  15. IMO A a^n - b^n - -> is divisible by a-b always is divisible by a+b when n is even further more a^n-b^n= (a-b) (a^n-1*b.......b^n-1) further expansion you will see it is divisible by a-b so 7^74 - 5^74 = (7-5) (7+5) * x /24 = 24 * x so remainder is 0..
  16. Peter nailed it there. I would use that method
