I think you can take admission in MS and then move ahead, in case you already have an MS, then keep talking to professors for help. I will take admission in MS in case I get unfunded Phd there.

UB has good professors working in corporate finance like Professor Derek and also in derivative pricing like Professor Igor. Additionally they also have professors working on Merger Acquisition and Portfolio analytics as well. But U-Miami is also a great place with more professors in Finance.

If you are looking for MBA Finance or MS Financial Engineering and given that you are from Engineering background then given below is my suggestion. I don't think there is any need to worry for those who have low GPA. If you are in India you can do 1 year PG diploma in Finance from Government based or other University which are quite good. Now, adding to what is being talked here is the plan for you: GMAT 700+ CFA Level 2 GRE Subject Maths 80Percentile (goes thrice a year in USA / once a year in India in Nov) 1 year Course in Finance from India (I think it is 16 Credit hour course) Right Experience in work or research to get LOR from relevant people If you can work on these areas and get good success in these areas then your old GPA will look a minor issue. NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!

Yes GRE Maths is going to help you. GRE Maths is a tuff exam; it has Calculus which is 50% and other areas like probability. It is a good exam and is very basic exam. I recommend you to give the exam and get 90% which will require some hard work. Now check any course of Fin Engg it has lots and lots of Maths hence GRE Math and CFA Level 2 pass plus a GMAT 700+ will get you in top college. Best, Shivgan

Hi Vipul, GMAT, Work exp and Academics all play an equal role. Your experience in job is not related to management so that that will not help you & you dont have any education in management and no PG degree. You can enroll in PG diploma IGNOU to get more credits in courses of management and give GMAT to get 700+ after doing this you can aim Rank 20-50 MBA colleges. If you are working then you can try the virtual classrooms to study in the night for GMAT and join a distance education course. If you are able to complete the things you have good chances.
