  1. Hi, Someone asked for Clinton's notes. Hope you find it helpful
  2. I can feel the pressure mounting as the test date approaches. I felt good too. Thanks tickle.
  3. Great job, modusoperandi. Congrats
  4. Hey cooldude, I think it should be 2a/sqrt(3).
  5. In question 8, I am getting the side of the square as 3/2 and not 3. For question 24, I am getiing A as the answer. Can anybody verify please?
  6. You can have two lines that do not intersect but are not parallel at the same time. This can happen only if the lines are on different planes. However 3D coordinate geometry is out of the scope of GMAT. On a single plane, two lines must intersect or be parallel.
  7. I did not understand how you arrived at this hjafferi. Could you explain it?
  8. It is between A and E for me.
  9. When something is compared to itself, 'usual' is used. When it is compared to a set to which it belongs, 'is usual' is used. Answer is D.
  10. Hey Bumper, I am having trouble with SC and CR on the tests. However my hit rate on the OG questions is pretty okay. On MGMAT tests it is really disappointing. I haven't given GMATPrep yet so cannot tell about that. Do you have any suggestions?
  11. Heavy line means the ones that are bolder than the others. But in this case all the lines look the same to me.
  12. Here's another way to solve the question Area of QPS = 1/2bh Here we have two sets of base and height. One is PS *QP. The other is QS * PR. So 1/2 QS * PR = 1/2 PS *QP PR = 3 * 4/5
  13. In question 3, we are asked to find the area of the square in terms of r not in terms of a number. If a^2 = 100 and r = 20/pi 5*r = 100/pi 5*r*pi = 100 5*r*pi = a^2 The question is very convoluted.
  14. I am unable to distinguish between the lines. They all seem heavy.
  15. Six mobsters have arrived at the theater for the premiere of the film “Goodbuddies.” One of the mobsters, Frankie, is an informer, and he's afraid that another member of his crew, Joey, is on to him. Frankie, wanting to keep Joey in his sights, insists upon standing behind Joey in line at the concession stand. How many ways can the six arrange themselves in line such that Frankie’s requirement is satisfied? A.6 B.24 C.120 D.360 E.720
  16. You cannot upload anything(I ofcourse meant here on TM). I would suggest uploading your image on any image hosting site and then providing the link here.
  17. I am unsure about it and I do not have the answer to verify. A certain deck of cards contains 2 blue cards, 2 red cards, 2 yellow cards, and 2 green cards. If two cards are randomly drawn from the deck, what is the probability that both are not blue? A. 15/28 B. 1/4 C. 9/16 D. 1/32 E. 1/16 I came up with 27/28. Is it right?
  18. I chose 3 teams from 10 and came up with 10!/3!7!. However, if I needed to go a step further and arrange these teams in 3 places in 3! ways giving a total of 10!/7! ways which is the same as 10*9*8. Thanks givemeanid and Jakir
  19. How many ways are there to award a gold, silver and bronze medal to 10 contending teams? 10 x 9x 8 10!/3!7! 10!/3! 360 300Please do post the reasoning as to how you arrived at the answer instead of just posting the answer.
  20. Erin, I get your point now. I was hasty and overlooked the fact that there are other sites on which an image or a file could be uploaded and the link provided in this forum. In this way, neither does the forum become a repository of files nor are the members at a loss.
  21. Lets assume you know the 68-95-99 rule now that Jakir has posted the explanation. We know 68% of the population lie between m-d and m+d. It implies that 100-68 = 32% lie below m-d and above m+d. Since the distribution is symmetric(check out the bell curve in Jakir's post), one half of 32% i.e. 16% lie below m-d and 16% lie above m+d. In order to get the answer we need the total above m-d. It is simply 68(between m-d and m+d)+16(above m+d) = 84% Hope that helps.
  22. On page 25, 'After all' is listed as a counter-premise indicator. However, in the mini drill that follows on question 3, 'After all' is called an additional premise indicator. Am I missing something or are the lists not so restrictive in their meaning?
  23. Anybody using this book? I just have some doubts regarding the premise indicators that I would like to discuss.
