  1. You need to have a SSN to be able to register as intern in NJ. So, that means, you have to be a US citizen, immigrant or an h1b visa holder. You are not allowed to intern under a tourist visa. You can only start your internship after the Board of Pharmacy approves your intern license. I hope this helps!
  2. hello! is your bachelors degree in pharm a 5 yr course? That's the requirement now in the US.. it should be at least a 5yr course. Try visiting www.nabp.net. You can find a lot of info in that. As a foreign graduate, you need to take fpgee and toefl-ibt. Both exams should be taken here in the US. After passing those two exams, you will have your internship in a pharmacy here in the US.. more or less.. 1500 hrs. You will be the one looking for an employer that will sponsor your working visa. And then, you need to pass NAPLEX and MPJE.. (also here in the US). That's it! It's really hard to be a licensed pharm here.. just need a lot of prayers and patience.. try reading the posts here in this forum so you'll know what to do.. good luck! :)
  3. Well, intern pay really varies from one retail company to another and from one state to another.. but if you are already a licensed pharmacist, the pay is just the same for all. So, I guess, we just have to go through with this internship for whatever cost because in due time, we will all be licensed. I hope so! ;)
  4. As far as I know, the consuls don't ask much for h1b interview. All you have to do is bring the approval notice and all essential documents. I knew people who applied for H1b for PT and teachers. They were all given the work visa. They did not encounter hard questions from the consuls. Maybe because our case were already evaluated by the USCIS. Well, I just hope that we would all get that visa. Good luck to all of us! I am still waiting for my approval. I hope to receive it this week. :)
  5. Thanks winona! I am praying that we will all be in the US this year. It's good to know that pinoys will again invade the US! [clap]
  6. Well.. we are all in the same situation! I am also waiting for my approval. Mine is EAC-09-146-xxxxx. I guess all of you will receive the approval first before me because my batch is 146. Let's just hope that we will receive good news very soon!
  7. I got my deficiency letter in about 4 weeks but I did not pursue my application in WA. So, I guess the 3 months waiting time is just an exaggeration! ;)
  8. I think the h1b filing is not yet closed.. Because until now.. the cap has not been reached. Maybe, you can still search online for employers that are still accepting applicants.
  9. Try Kruse Staffing Inc. I don't know if they are still open for foreign interns but there is no harm in trying. If you would be assigned in Tennessee, you do not need any intern license for the state does not register pharm interns. The 65thou cap is still not reached so you still have enough time to apply. Another suggestion, try this link MyVisaJobs.com- all the h1b sponsors for pharmacists for 2008 are listed there. Good luck!
  10. Hi everyone! Mine is EAC-09-146-xxxxx... So, my batch is 146. For sure most of you will receive approval notices earlier than mine. I just hope that in the end, all of us will get the approval. God bless us all! :)
  11. H1destiny - Have you tried Kruse Assoc? Maybe they can consider applicants.. for until now, the cap has not been reached. :hmm:
  12. Thanks jy_swy! Keep posting on any updates on your application. I hope that the approval for regular processing will also be issued earlier than last year. ;)
  13. I was informed that they already received my receipt notice yesterday. Thank God! :) I am so happy upon learning the good news. [clap] Good luck to all of us! ;) I hope we would all get the approval notice soon. :)
  14. Hi there! I took the exam last june so I don't know if the exam is still quite the same because you will already take the computerized one. Anyway, i suggest that you just focus on one book if you don't have enough time to review. That is much better rather than having a lot of books with you because you will just end up confused. I reviewed the shargel book. The exam is really indescribable. Honestly, I had a lot of answers based on wise guessing. It is just so hard to know if you answer the question correctly or not. But I think, if you have read a book, at least there is a big chance that you will guess the correct answer. Good luck! :)
  15. Wow! That's good news! [clap] I'm still waiting for that receipt. I hope that I will also receive it the soonest time. Wait... why is it advanced degree? Is that really for pharmacist intern applicants? I wish that Kruse email me the same good news.. wish me luck jy_swy! :)
  16. They were filed by Walgreens so it was premium processing.
  17. Tennessee does not register pharmacy interns so you do not need a license or a deficiency letter to start internship. They just need your FPGEC certificate. :)
  18. You are right pharma king... all of us filed thru regular processing have not received receipt notices yet. I have also checked on a lot of blogs/forums and we are all in the same boat. We just have to wait for that because last year, they received that around MAY. :hmm:

    Format

Well, just prepare - one page cover letter then another page for resume. I was advised by my friends to avoid a long resume. :)

    Intern in Tennessee

One more thing, Tennessee does not license pharmacyinterns so you don't need to have an intern license/deficiency letter in applying there. :)

    Intern in Tennessee

Hi there! For this year's petition, Rite aid and Safeway had openings in WA. Maybe you could try those companies if you want to take the internship there. For safeway, I know that they want interns with a high score in the FPGEE and with Rite aid, they are seeking those who had a strong retail experience. Good luck on your search! :)

    Intern in Tennessee

Hello rose205! I was filed by Kruse Assoc for Kroger in TN. Here are the email ads of the contact persons in Kruse: Heather Van Dyke , Brad Jones Good luck on your search! :)
  23. Some employers give the tracking number of the courier company that they used in sending your petition to US CIS. If they gave you that, you can check if the package was delivered. Some have already received their receipt notices from US CIS. So, you can already check the status of your application thru that. If you still have not received that notice, just wait for it because for regular processing, i think the latest time to receive that is around MAY. ;)
  24. Do you really worry for that intern pay? I think what is important now is that a company was able to file h1b for you and that you will be able to start a new career in the US. $23.5/hr is not low. Actually, it's way high than the minimum salary in the US. You can actually survive with that salary. Just think of this, you will only be an intern for just a few months, after NAPLEX, you will already earn higher than that. My salary is also not in the 40's but I am not worried for I know that after I get my license, it will already move to $50/hr. So, you need not to worry. Let's just be thankful that this year, there's no lottery and that we have a higher chance of visa approval now. So, good luck to all of us and God bless! :)
  25. Hi jampharma! Please look at the threads for Riteaid, Walgreens and Misc H1b petitions. I think people posted there and stated the place where they would be assigned.
