It has been a long bumpy journey to be finally licensed as a pharmacist in California.Came here in 2007 then took the fpgee, passed it in June 2008 then applied for internship, HIB visa and finally took the naplex and cpje in December 2010 and failed and my intern license was expiring so my company said that they will not be able to extend my visa. I went to the Board and pleaded them to renew it as my life depended on it, but guess what they said no.... after one week again went to the Board to speak to someone senior and left application explaining that I still have 3 attempts and how my life rotates around the intern license...
By GOD's grace a miracle happened and i get a email from my company that they will extend my visa, so I wonder why then i check the board's website they had extended my intern license by one year. I gave the exams in end May and got my results on Friday 8th July .
The materials i used was, I took the passnaplexnow course twice, then used apha a little bit and prontopass for maths and rx prep and wiseman . So when i took the naplex next time, I thought of each question as if I would either kill or save a patient... if it was stats question i did not bother much as i knew you can not kill a patient....but max doses, storage of medications like insulin and drug interactions, can kill so paid attention to these.....
By the way I passed from pharmacy school in 1996...so be focused... get the concepts right .....be determined that you can do it , if I can then why can you not ... to top all this I have a toddler at home thus more distraction .... and for comfort pray it really helps.....
Wishing those on the path/journey to be pharmacist all the best , I am sure you will make it sooner or later.....
