epharmacist i tried to reply but you have full pm inbox.
  3. All 50 states, District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico require graduates of pharmacy schools that are not based in the US to achieve Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) Certification before applying for a license from a state board of pharmacy. Contact the state board of pharmacy for specific requirements as each state’s requirements differ. Some states, for example, exempt graduates of Canadian pharmacy schools from this requirement.
  4. Hi Congrats! What books did you used? Do you have Dr. G. Dutta? Do you have books to recommend that are useful? Thanks!
  5. I guess the result will be at 1 pm tomorrow as i read last exam result. But i will check tomorrow from time to time starting at 8 am.
  6. Do i deserve 1 too Erin?I live also in US,in Georgia.
  7. Wow that's nice.I love to have one too and have photo wearing it in Bahamas.I'll be in Bahamas next week Nov.15-19.It will be a nice b-day gift for me which is my b-day is on Nov.19 .:-)
  8. Probably next week.Starting on Monday i will check it everyday.
  9. When the NABP site will post FPGEE score for September is available then you can log in and check it.My friend told me she got her score last April after 5 weeks from the date of the exam.
  10. Yes i did checked that site,it's not specific data.Im sorry i did not mean that higher chances of sponshorship is in small cities. What i wrote was it's not hard to find intership for US citizen and green card holder in some small cities because i know someone who is a green card holder who just work as intern pharmacist in small city.Another friend(college classmate) also US citizen who had internship before and now she is already a licensed pharmacist in small city.I can't say about sponsorship if has chances in small cities cause i never meet someone who work as intern with sponsorship.
  11. You are right Cro also MPJE except : Currently, 46 jurisdictions utilize the MPJE as part of their licensure requirements. (Arkansas, California, Guam, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, Virginia, and the Virgin Islands do not participate. Contact the board of pharmacy for law examination requirements in those jurisdictions. South Dakota began administering the MPJE February 1, 2010.) Yeah RPhmanager got confused with the terms FPGEE and FPGEC.

    pharmacy internship

The requirements may be found at O.C.G.A. 26-4-46 - Pharmacy interns -- Eligibility and requirements for licenses: (a) To obtain a license as a pharmacy intern, an applicant shall: (1) Have submitted a written application in the form prescribed by the board of pharmacy; (2) Have attained the age of majority; (3) Be of good moral character; and (4) Have paid the fees specified by the board for the issuance of the license. (b) The following individuals shall be eligible to be licensed as a pharmacy intern: (1) A student who is currently enrolled in an approved school or college of pharmacy; (2) An individual who is a graduate of an approved school or college of pharmacy who is currently licensed by the board for the purpose of obtaining practical experience as a requirement for licensure as a pharmacist; or (3) An individual who does not meet the requirements of paragraphs (1) and (2) of this subsection and is a graduate of a pharmacy school or college located in another country but who has completed all requirements of the Foreign Pharmacy Equivalency Certification Program administered by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. This shall include without being limited to successful completion of all required examinations, the issuance of the equivalency certificate, and an individual evaluation by the board of the applicant's proficiency in the English language. © The board shall approve all internship programs for the purpose of providing the practical experience necessary for licensure as a pharmacist. A pharmacy intern is authorized to engage in the practice of pharmacy under the supervision of a pharmacist. The board shall adopt rules regarding the licensure of interns and the standards for internship programs. You may download the Internship Information and Application or contact the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy at (478) 207-2440 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting (478) 207-2440 end_of_the_skype_highlighting. I hope it helps, just contact the state where you would like to apply as intern pharmacist. And you could download the Internship information and application.I read you received already your FPGEC certificate from NABP.Good for you you cleared both.Goodluck for internship!
  13. 3. Any individual who has established educational equivalency by obtaining a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) certificate for the purpose of obtaining practical experience for licensure as a pharmacist. © Licenses shall be valid for five (5) years or until such intern is expelled, suspended, dismissed or withdraws from an approved school, becomes licensed as a pharmacist, or has taken and failed the Board examination for the third tine, whichever comes first. Intern licenses may be renewed at the discretion of the Board. 1. Individuals who have established educational equivalency by meeting the requirements of Rule 480-2-.02 must obtain 1500 hours of practical pharmacy experience under the instruction of a licensed pharmacist. The minimum number of intership hours that will be accepted is twenty (20) hours worked in any week. The maximum number of internship hours worked that will be accepted is fifty (50) hours worked in any week. This is only for Georgia board of pharmacy.Geo1syria if you mean if you are eligible to work overtime as intern (for monetary reason) maybe it depends of your employer if they allow that but if the reason so that you could finish internship hours earlier i think you better check your state maximum internship hours work that will be accepted in a week.Like in Georgia where i lived, the maximum hours is 50 hours in a week.So if the employer will allow me to work more than 50 hrs. a week then my state board will count only 50 hours and the rest hours that i work overtime will not accepted. But if employer allow me to work overtime then why not,i don't care if overtime not counted for intership as long as every week paycheck is good.
  14. Maybe it depends in an area where you looking for internship.I know someone that she got hired as intern pharmacist after passing FPGEE and TOEFL while waiting her FPGEC from NABP.It took her 2 months to received her FPGEC after she cleared both exams. She paid $17/hr as intern pharmacist then she will have $ 30+/hr. after completing the state internship hours required then once she pass the NAPLEX her salary will be $50+/hr. as license pharmacist.I don't know if she is allowed overtime work.I think you can read on the site of how many hours you are allowed to work as intern pharmacist in 1 week to complete the state intership hours requirement. It's better to read the state board of pharmacy rules and regulations regarding intership hours cause i read something before that they have specific hours for interns to work in 1 week to be counted to complete intership.
  15. Are you sure RPhmanager that FPGEC alone doesn't qualify for internship? As far as i know once you pass both FPGEE and TOEFL you are qualified to apply as intern pharmacist.Unless if you are in Texas state where NABP allow the FPGEE and TOEFL passer to take NAPLEX even no internship.I think in Texas, you can have internhip after you pass NAPLEX.As i understood from OP's post that she/he just received FPGEC and looking for internship means that she/he got already her certificate from NABP.That means that she passed already both FPGEE and TOEFLiBT coz NABP issued FPGEC.I know that once i pass FPGEE & TOEFL i need to apply internship and finish the 1500 hrs. of required internship of my state where i belong in order for me to be qualified to take NAPLEX.That's what i read on NABP site.Anyway,i dont know much about working visa requirement for internship. But i think once you have FPGEC and apply for internship then if you apply in a retail pharmacy as intern pharmacist,if they are willing to hire you and file working visa for applicant then that's good. After working visa approve applicant can work and finish the internship hours so that applicant can take another step which is taking NAPLEX then MPJE to be a US license pharmacist.
  16. As i've read on the forum that it is difficult to find a sponsor for internship but no harm in trying if you are willing to gamble.Regarding about having trouble looking for an internship even for US citizen or for permanent resident (greencard holder),maybe it depends of location.I know someone (greencard holder) who just passed FPGEE (April) and TOEFL and she is working now as intern pharmacist with pay (big chain retail pharmacy). In fact,2 big chains offered her to work with them but she choose the good one with good company benefits and contract agreement once she will pass the NAPLEX.I think it's not hard to find internship in small city area but im not sure.I hope it's not hard for me to find internship here in a small city where i live now once i cleared both exams FPGEE & TOEFL. New branch of Publix will open next month here and another branch of walmart will be open soon. There are lots of big chain pharmacy in neighboring small cities too. When i took the FPGEE we were just 5 test takers and 1 from Florida.I know lots of US pharmacists in my area because there's a good pharmacy school and i know lots of competitors and they are priority for internship but no harm in trying.
  17. I agree with you,"It's a challenge and this is life, full of challenges".It's better to think positive outlook in life than to quit to fullfill your dream.Having hope, goal, perseverance, determination, interest, patience, effort and actions are good factors to success than doing nothing. There's no harm in trying. For those foreign pharmacists who doesn't have GC or citizenship,DON'T GIVE UP!Try and try until you could find an internship. As Pharmaddict said it's hard to find an internship but it's not impossible. It's better not to entertain negative feedbacks.
  18. Ok thanks. That's why my friend who is a foreign nurse did not take TOEFL because she is already a US citizen and no need to take TOEFL for visa screening. You have good answer to my question. Now,i can tell my friend the difference of foreign pharmacist TOEFL and foreign nurses TOEFL.She insisted to me before that no need to take TOEFL if US citizen and i told her that for foreign pharmacists we need to take TOEFL.Now it's clear to me,thanks ShikoNesta.
  19. Thanks srvcg! You are definitely right.I have audio CD pack and i checked it the answer regarding that insert question cause when i scan the book i did not get directly how to do it.I should insert sentence where it should fit the proper meaning.
  20. Ok thanks for the reply. It's not rumor cause it's my friend a nurse graduated from outside US who told me that she did not take TOEFL since she is already a US citizen but i think that's only apply for foreign nurse and not for NABP.I dont think so that im still suck in English grammar and speech.Maybe a little bit studying and practicing to improve. In my country, since primary, secondary up to college we had English subjects. We speak English during the class especially for reporting and answering the professor. Most of my subjects in school are in English.I speak mix English and my local language with my family and friends during conversation.English is the second official language in my country.Back in my country, even 3-4 yrs.old kid knows how to speak English (mostly for those who study in private school).I learned English grammar eversince when i was in elementary school.I won best in spelling (of course English) and English essay (writing about amino acid) when i was 10 yrs.old during school division contest.I had English grammar,English conversation and English speech subjects during college years as minor subjects. For English speech subject, there is a room that we called speech lab that you have your own booth and headphone with mic for speaking and pronunciation.Like for example, the pronunciation of the word reservoir, repugnant etc. Also for English reading, the professor will grade you by how you deliver, pronounce, intonation, pause, diction and so on.Pronunciation of "th" is just basic that you can learned during grade 1.I learned English from my school.I can mimic or imitate how they talk here but of course not their wrong grammar sometimes.I'm not saying that im very much fluent in English.Although,i understand English,i can write correct English and i can speak English in a proper way but im still learning.I don't have much problem of vocabulary because i always read encyclopedia books of my parents before (younger years) unless if it is very rare word then i need to look at it in a dictionary or i had to ask my parents since they were teachers.I used to watched english movies and reading english novels before. My favorite author Sidney Sheldon was an Academy Award-winning American writer. My mom also an avid reader of novels.Well, hopefully i will pass the TOEFL exam.I need to practice more to improve also i need to study idioms because im not so familiar some of them.I'm not saying that because i had English education in my country since grade 1 untill college and speak English conversation sometimes with parents and friends,i am now good in english of course not im still learning even i speak English everyday with my husband....I was surprised when i asked my american friend here something about terms of endearment and she doesn't know or understand what is the meaning of endearment so i explained to her.
  21. If US citizen already,no need to take TOEFL? Is it true that if US citizen already,no need to take TOEFL?I'm not yet a US citizen (2 more yrs. to go ready to apply),as of now im a green card holder. While waiting the result of my FPGEE,im preparing to take TOEFL.I'm planning to take TOEFL on Nov.6.Just got message on FB from one of my friends here in Georgia, she said that i dont need to take TOEFL if im a US citizen already.Like in her situation she graduated nursing outside US and she passed NCLEX here but she did not take TOEFL since she is a US citizen already. She is working as a nurse here without taking TOEFL.Maybe that's apply only for nursing. I read on NABP site and i couldn't find that if US citizen there's no need to pass TOEFL in order to get FPGEC (if pass FPGEE).
