The best source for practicing questions that are most closely related to the actual GMAT is the Official Guide and the full-length practice test on the GMAT website. I am not able to completely understand your question so please be clear and I will sure reply promptly.

Hi Hadad. I would like to thank you for your kind words and I greatly appreciate it. It feels good to be able to help others. The answer to your question is not straight as it depends on what you want. I’ll try my best to address your concern here and hopefully it will be useful to you. If you don’t have enough time, like most busy students, and wish to get a mediocre score, I’d recommend you get the Kaplan and or Princeton Review book, along with the Official Guides – this will be enough for you to get a decent score without too much pain. On the other hand, if you are willing to spend the time, make the efforts, take the pain, read and practice a lot, sacrifice your favorite tv shows, and wish to get a good score, I would recommend that you get the EZ Solutions GMAT series of books for math and verbal and the set of Official Guides – this will take you from zero to being an expert and you will have the potential of achieving the highest possible score. The official guide is the most authentic source for practice questions. These are retired questions from previous tests that will give you the feel of the real thing.

Sorry I forgot to answer your other question. You only need to take toefl and not ilets for admission into US business schools.

Hello a4nsd and anish99virgo. Thanks for your kind words. I strongly recommend that you read through my original post in this thread. You will be able to see my study plan and recommendation of books. It may take you anywhere from a month to a few months to prepare for the gmat depending on where you stand and how much time you put in. You may have to take toefl if your native language is not English. Please let me know if you have any related specific questions. I will be glad to help you guys.

The new edition of the official guide has about half new questions and the other half are repetitions from the old edition. So you should get it if you want a few new questions to practice.

It depends on the deadlines of the schools to which you are planning on applying to and the specific programs.

You seem to have a plan like most students which will only get you an average score. If you are looking for an above average score I suggest you go thrugh my other thread where I have expalined my plan in detail.

Excuse me for correcting you. You will be taking the GMAT, not giving it. The GMAT is given by gmac, and taken by students like us. I am planning to take it again sometime this year. Please tell me how you are preparing for it. I'd love to help you out. Take care.

I agree with your post about the verbal books. I also suggest that you use the Official Guide to get practice with real verbal test questions.

I am glad you took my advice and I think you made the right decision. EZ Solutions has now released their verbal books which look quite promising and I think they are essential if you are aiming for a high score.

The long awaited EZ Solutions verbal books are now released which makes it a complete study material. These books can be a bit overwhelming at first but worth the efforts.
