I really like learning new words but i think that it is very hard to do without lots of practice. Are you still working on this concept? If you are and you make an english version, I think I would be interested. Like i told another poster, interesting games that are fun might work very well. I don't have a smartphone, but if you do, you might check out that one I mentioned. Like I said, it is called bigwords spacegame or something like that. I was able to play it on my friends phone a little and it might be a good way to learn a few words. I have listened to some vocab lessons on mp3 but found it kinda hard to pay attention. Without something to look at I was easily distracted.

First of all, what the heck is"Financial engineering"??? Second, what do the people at your school have to say? Talk to whoever offers those programs and see what they have to say. They should be able to tell you what their graduates are up to! Are they doing the kind of things that YOU want to be doing?

It all depends on what you are trying to do. For law or business I imagine the school's reputation is the main thing. In other areas, like the sciences for example, the reputation of the particular department is what is important. You know? I mean, where did your dentist go to school? Do you care? But on the other hand, where your prof went probably played a significant part in how they were able to get a job at your school. What are you trying to do? What programs are you looking at?

Talk to the library at your university. They might have an agreement with the other institution.

A friend of mine just showed me an iPhone game that I think was like that. I think it was called bigwords or spacegame or something like that. It looked like a game like galaga or space invaders but you had to learn vocabulary words. I just played it for a moment and it was very hard, but i think that kind of thing could help him learn some tough words. I don't have a smartphone (yet) so I can't tell you more about it. I can ask him about it if you like.

It sounds silly but I learn new words by singing songs and I make flash cards with lots of colors.
