  1. Hello Okayboy, Thanks for enquiring but I sold the book already.
  2. Hi, Your best bet is to go to the website of the state board of pharmacy and see what the requirements are for internship. It varies from state to state. In most states, after FPGEE, you are allowed to do your internship and then do Naplex & Mpje after internship. The state board website should have intern application forms for you to fill stating your name address etc, name & license no of pharmacy you want to do the internship & the name & license number of your would be preceptor. When they get your application and everything is in order you'll be sent a letter/ card designating you as an intern/extended intern and the forms on which to document your hours.. That is my experience with Texas, like I said earlier it varies from one state to another. Regarding the visa question , I know it's possible to work as a volunteer if one cannot get the required visa that allows you to work . Also some employers used to file for visa for their intern but I'm not sure how that process goes. Check your state board website, mail them or call them with any questions you have, they are normally willing to clarify what you need to do. I had to call my state board with questions a few times myself & someone always emailed me back or gave me a call back to explain things. Best wishes Boeing
  3. Information for Pharmacists Hi Pary123, You only need your FPGEC and SSN to register with Texas state board for the naplex and MPJE, you don't need the intern licence for that. If you click on the link or go to their website and click on pharmacist- registration by examination. It had all the info you need. Basically, you mail your application form and supporting docs to tsbp, obtain your fingerprint session, pay nabp for the naplex and MPJE . Once tsbp get a report on your fingerprint session and it's ok, they'll tell nabp that you're eligible to take the exams and nabp then generated ATT for you . The ATT is good for one year so you can register with Pearson Vue to take the exam anytime within that one year. hope this answers your question. You can pm me if you want more clarification & I'll be glad to help. In my case I got ATT about 3-4 weeks after my fingerprint session. best wishes
  4. Hi there, I think it's possible you submitted the wrong forms. I'm a foreign grad & just started my internship too. I know it varies from state to state, but in Texas as a foreign grad one would submit the form for "extended intern" application while if one is currently a student in a College, you will submit a student intern application form. That 30 hours they are asking - is a requirement of the student intern application. For extended intern thru would ask for your FPGEC certificate. So maybe go your state board's website to verify you submitted the correct forms & you can give them a call to find out what they need as proof of the 30 hours. yo take the paid or volunteer position- it's a tough call - would you rather complete the hours quickly or would you prefer getting paid yo offset your childcare expenses. Again if I was you, I would call the state board to ask if I can have 2 preceptors ( in Texas it's allowed- I have two preceptors). If it's possible in your state , you will be able to work 2 days with the paid and 3 days unpaid. So definitely give the board a call. Good luck.
  5. hi, like Angeldus said, Texas regulation is that one has to schedule Naplex /MPJE within 6 months of getting your FPGEC and needs to pass the Naplex within 3 months of starting extended internship , if A person fails the exam, then he has to stop internship because the internship as well as the intern licence becomes invalidated . Such a person will have to pass the exams before being allowed to continue internship. So yes you will have chance to do the exam again. NABP allows 5 attempts to pass naplex however there must be a 3 month waiting period before retaking the exam. Hope that clarifies for you the Texas requirement and the NABP requirement. It's the reason why foreign grads in Texas tend to do naplex and MPJE before starting internship. I'm in Texas also- I got my FPGEC in July , took and passed naplex in November and will take MPJE in a few weeks , then I will start searching for a place to do the internship. Best wishes

    Books for FPGEE

Hi, I think you may have a different book. What you need is 'APHA complete review for the fpgee'. That's the name as it's written on the front cover of the book. You can get it on Amazon.
  10. Hi, Dont know if you still need the info seeing its a been a while since you sked the question, but it could be of benefit to some people as well. I called the Texas board a few days ago, I dont know if there is a fee involved but I dont think there is. However, you need the name of the pharmacy where you want to do the internship and the preceptor before you can submit the form for intern licence application in Texas. May be different in some other states.
  11. Hi Little Pharos, It depends on the state. In Texas, you need the actual fpgec certificate and you need to have gotten a place to do internship before you can apply for intern licence, is what I was told when I called to enquire. Your best bet is to call the state pharmacy board to know what the requirements are.
  12. Hi, does anyone plan on selling their Rxprep materials? Pls let me know, I'm looking to buy. thanks for reading.
  13. Glory be to God , I passed the exam too. Congrats to everyone who made it. For those who didn't , don't lose hope, try again & believe in yourself that you can do it. I read thru APHA review for FPGEE twice. I think that is the number one book to prepare with. I also used the Manan question series( I only used 1000 questions & the management questions) but I didn't go thru all the questions because I didn't have enough time. Also do the pre fpgee, it helps to know what kind of question s to expect. For the questions you find difficult on the pre fpgee , research more to know the answers. You might get something g like that on the real exam, because that happened to me best wishes

  15. Hi everyone, I just want to say This thread is awesome & thank you to everybody who has contributed to it. I am just at the stage of wondering what books to study for Naplex and I found a lot of useful information on here. Good job guys!!
  16. Hi Albanna, in my opinion, the key is to practice a lot before the actual exam, because the questions tend to follow the same pattern. For the reading, the key to finishing all the questions in the allotted time is to not waste time reading the whole passage. Just read the passage that relates to the question you are answering. The questions willl state which paragraph it relates to & question one will normally relate to paragraph one and so on. It may sound weird but its a strategy that works, you just need to practice it a couple of time to see it works. For the writing , practice writing essays on the topics in the writinng section of the official toefl guide, you can compare it to sample essays on Test magic website, or if you can get someone to grade the essays for you. Generally, the essay should be 4 or 5 paragraphs , first & last being your introduction and conclusion.every other paragraph in between should each be devoted to one point. Give examples where possible. for the listening. The key is effective note taking. Again , Practice often to to know what the probable question s will be& that way you will be able to jot down only the relevant points. hope this helps & best wishes in your exam
  17. Hello Inspiration, It's worth ordering a rescore. I have heard of two instances where a rescoring resulted in 26 from 24 or 25. Albanna, check Notefull speaking on YouTube , it's a great tool for structuring your answers. I used it in my prep, followed the exact structure recommended & I got 26 in speaking on first attemp. Best wishes.

    April exam

Hi people, I guess the reason there haven't been many contributors to this thread is because there are many people like me who haven't checked the boards recently, taken a break from the stress of the exams. This is only my second time here since the exam whereas I used to come more frequently before taking the exam. I think this is a normal trend with exam takers. I remember after the exam of Nov 2012, i was waiting for people to share their insights into the exam as I was just gearing up to start my preparation for the April one, but for days there was no input from people who had taken the exam. so maybe its something we all need to work on improving to make the forum more relevant. I agree that there were lots of difficult questions, some questions didn't seem to be related to the topics on the blue print. Also too many Structures and very few calculations. Did you all take the pre FPGEE, do you think it helped at all in preparation leading up to the exam? Anyway I believe we will all get passing scores. Best wishes to us all

    Books for FPGEE

Hi, I wrote the exam a few days ago & I studied APHA complete review and Manan shroff 1000 questions. The topics in APHA follow the blueprint and the information is not too bulky like CPR. Use CPR for topics that are not well explined on APHA eg federal pharmacy law and calculations.
  21. Hi Hala, for the writing task 2, do you have the official Toefl practice book. In the writing section there is a list of over a hundred essay questions. Practise answering those questions. It will help you a lot. Let your essay be divided into 4 or 5 distinct paragraphs- your introduction , conclusion and the in -between paragraphs will be your supporting reasons plus examples. The introduction should state what your stance is on the topic and why. The 2nd & 3rd paragraph will now talk further on each reason. For the task 1, you need to use points from both the passage and the listening in order to have a good mark. Search for Notefull on YouTube , it has really helpful tips for answering the writing question 1. I used the format and it worked for me. Finally, practice writing an essay everyday & get Someone to review it for you.Good luck
  22. Hi Daft, I have read through all the posts in this thread and I agree that TOEFL is about adapting to the particular test format and not necessarily about english proficiency. My advice is for you to develop a format to answer each question. I just wrote the Toefl a few days days ago, (fingers crossed its going to be ok) and I found on youtube a material that really helped me with developing a format for answering each speaking question. It's called notefull speaking. My advice is practice with that template. Master working with those format, and whatever question you are practising with just make sure you stick to the time alloted so that on the test day you will be able to speak within the time allotted. Don't loose hope , I'm sure you will pass it the next time around.
  23. Another good tip for the reading which works for me in preparing for the TOEFL: Dont bother reading the whole passage before you start answering the questions because of time constraints. I just read the first sentence of each passage to have a general idea of what the passage is about., then start answering the questions. Since each question tells us what paragraph it refers to, we can then read that paragragh to answer the questions. That way I finish the questions with 2 or 3 minutes to spare and I can use that time to review. For the speaking its important to keep to time even as we are practising , that helps to develop concise answers and one will be able to speak within the alloted time on the test day. Best of luck everyone.
  24. Hi there, From my understanding, Yes you have to sit for the TOEFL in the United States. You can do it either before or after the FPGEE , it really doesn't matterin which order it's done. But one has to pass both exams before NABP gives the FPGEC certificate. You can go to the NABP website to download the FPGEC application bulletin.
  25. HI Edz, the answer to this is 'not given' . Reason: The passage says "if it continues it COULD rip apart the earth. But the question says it WILL tear apart the earth. Looking at the 2 statements, tear apart and rip apart has the same meaning . That is done deliberately to confuse you to think the two sentences are saying the same thing. However COULD implies probability whereas WILL implies certainty. So 'TRUE' is a wrong answer. 'FALSE' is also a wrong answer because the passage does not say that it wont happen. So that's a clue to answering such questions, you need to look carefully at the parts of the sentence. Hope this helps and good luck with the test.
