  1. It's not bad at all in metrics, but it's also relative. In my opinion it would depend on whether you hold any other offers. BGSE is indisputably excellent for macro. Since I am planning to apply to similar EU schools for Master/Research Master next year, can I ask for your profile that allowed you to receive an offer with full waiver? Would be helpful! And congrats on the offer!
  2. I am planning on applying for an MPhil in Economics for the 2017/18 acad. year. I would appreciate some opinions/ perspective regarding universities. My question is specific to GPA requirements, so I will limit the information below to academic achievements. BSc: Economics, Dutch university, GPA: 7.3/10 (mainly due to bad grades in the first year. Final year GPA was 8.2/10 and thesis 9/10) MSc Economics, Dutch university, GPA 8.2/10 and no course grade below 7.5 and most grades above 8, TAship in the Economics department GRE: V:163 Q:169 AWA:4.5 According to some universities whose entry requirements I checked (mainly in the UK, as that would be my aim), they require a "good 2.1" in an undergraduate degree in economics as a minimum for an MPhil. I looked for Dutch grade conversions and found that e.g. Cambridge translates a 2.1 and a first to an overall Dutch grade of 7.5/10 and 8/10 respectively. So, according to the grade conversion above, I do not even have a 2.1 overall GPA in my bachelor. Logically I know that this means that I should not even bother applying. Questions: Can I compensate for my bachelor GPA with my master degree? Most universities' admission requirements only specify what GPA one should have in an undergraduate degree. Does anyone have any experience in this regard that they could share? General question: Can I aim for top UK universities with these grades? Opinion: Which European universities do you think would be feasible with these grades? Thanks!
