Hey Yash.. i have had the same doubts and this is what i heard frm a senior in ece.. for every 12 units (a semester long course) we take, we will pay $5k. Normally,in eachl semester we will take 36 units (3 courses), so we r gonna pay $15k... however, if we decide to take more than 3 courses, we dont pay anything extra...that is, any units above the 36 are not charged. well, its true that we r going to save a lot if we finish the ms in a year..but does that mean that in the summer quarter instead of interning, we will b taking courses?..also more courses/sem(in spring and fall) would probably make it very difficult for us to hold down a part-time campus job..i mean, c'mon cmu courses are not gonna be that easy to crack..

hey Shortcircuit, firstly Congratulations!! :) so u made it to UTA too well, aid scene it UT is awesome i have heard..that moe than 75%of students make some form of aid.. how and when were u notified by Austin??

Hey shortciruit.. my knowledge abt stan waitlisting procedure is pretty much limited to what other tmians used to discuss last yr..and i know they were sayin that waitlisted studs dont really make aid..but u could always go there and fight for ra/ta..fair competition once u get there..but not the aid+admit thingie..y dont u see this.. http://www.www.urch.com/forums/admissions-results/19357-ee-admissions-19.html?highlight=stanford jus read what they have discussed.. well..i dont know abt seattle..what info do u have abt the univ..coz i really dont know much abt the place..aid in dept..job offers etc..i got into dsp area..if u know anything..anything at all, let me know.. i have other admits..wisc mad, umich, cmu... so..i dont know till now what iam gonna decide on.. btw, what are ur other admits...

I myself got dinged at Stan.. but last yr..bigred..a fellow-tmian got into ee stan (arnd apr 25th, i think)after getting waitlisted ..u could search for his thread in archives to get more info(try keywords in search 'stanford' or biigredx24x)..i dont think there is any ranking gn to the waitlisted..but id think ur chances r good, considering many back out of stan due to the cost factor..thoh u mite get to know only after apr-15.. btw, i have an admit frm seattle too(ee)..

Some of my friends received rejects from Stan EE yesterday (17 mar). From gradcafe, i see many people got waitlisted on 17 mar. I still havent heard frm them. So, guessing that reject mail is on its way...mayb on sat itself..(someone posted a thread saying they heard frm stan on sat..)

Ok..people..does this mean UIUC is over for us??.. well, this is what the Gradscty at UIUC (ECE) mailed and told me (on fri): "Almost all of the financial aid has been awarded with just a few remaining decisions. At this point if you have not heard from us it does not look very promising. We hope to notify everyone by letter around the end of the month" How come there has been no UIUC admit heard/seen anywhere in tm forums? anyone heard from them??

Anyone heard from them? The application deadline was all the way in Dec..How much longer do we have to wait??

Their website says that all decisons will be made by the week of 13th march. That pretty much means we may have to wait the whole of next week, till 17th of Mar. But, seriously, do you guys think we have any hope left, considering we still havent heard frm them? I am wondering whether they have sent most(God forbid, not all!) of their admits and are probably just gonna release all their rejects towards the end..
