i have one more confusion.. Is 15 be the total number of observation, or is it just a value that has been added to old observations i.e. 10 if yes then it is clear that the new total no. of observation would be 11. please clearfify this. Thanks MWM for prompt answer. How this changed? please explain this, where Summation X, and n gone? how did you cancel that??

thanks ertda.One more favor.. can you please check this link ( my old writing) I was just checking the mistake i did. You made a comment that my 3rd ad 4th paras are not valid as the issue ask for the history proff. But i was not able to find any instance in issue that can assure me that issue demands historical discoveries, it says "most inmporatnt discoveries are incidental.." and I suppose we can raise the examples from the recent an the scientific researches. as they are the best for suporting my point. hi ertda, your eassy is good one. after reading your eassy, iwas thinking of adding some natural calamities, like recent earthquake in pakistan and despite the bad political realtions since long between India and paskistan, India helped the victims and raised some finances for the relief. this shows that enviornmental problems helps building the relation better among human and breaks the boundaries of natinalism. Please let me know if I am thinking in the right direction. I would appreciate if you can comment on my views, ASAP my GRE is right there....

hey guys, How do the non math student know normal distribution? Since GRE is common to all fields so ETS must be looking for something else instead of calculating... Would someone explain these questions and their solutions? Thanks in advance. ( though this has been discussed in the forum but since I have no math back ground (after 12th) I am having problem in understanding these facts.. Please exlain the following to make clear to everyone from non math background. ''If 350, 450 and 550 correspond to the 15, k, 45 percentile, compare k and 30''. The normal distribution is symmetric and has the property that the ''mass'' of the distribution increases as we approach towards the mean. Thus, the number of observations that are located from 350...450 must be smaller than the number of observations that are located from 450...550. Thus k (ii) Counterexample: '' If 10,11,12 correspond to the 50,k,70 percentile, compare k and 60''. Here, more observations are located between 10...11 than between 11...12 (10 is the mean) thus k>60.????

how could you make it 64 and 144, as 8 and 12 are diameter? the values should have been half and then solved.. What do you say about the concept?

Total number of students are 50 hence the middle number would be 25th and 26th student. so add the values of those and divide b 2. (7+7)/2 = 7 I hope this will clear your doubt.
