  1. hmmmm.... probability now i have two related question if he wins the first one, and advances to the second one, why the chance isn't (1/2) * (1/2) when you say "and", you need to multiply both chances when you say "or", you need to add them up or their sum subtract the "and" is that right?

    if cubic shape consider a rectangular, then answer is 1/3 if not, then answer is 2/7

    but it says a rectangular solid, when you put four like a square at the bottom, then you put another four on top of them, it forms a cube, is it consider "rectangular?" What's the answer?

  10. It's still seems unclear to me. I did go to couple websites look up the permutation and combination, but when do we use them? which one should we use? Sometimes, we will get same answers if we use both of them. Can anyone find some typical problems and explain the two situations? thx

  22. mine is definitely off, where I compute wrong? first person 0.5x + 0.5 second person is 0.25x + 0.25 third person is 0.125x + 0.125 their sum equals to x = 0.875x + 0.875 x = 7 ok, I got right this time
