  1. Yes I am not married. Looking for an "american" girl so that I get the resident status.. Anyone interested please PM me. My details are in my debriefing! :)
  2. I think what madinhell has heard has a point. I mean B Schools must be very selective in the first round and must be selecting only top notch people because they know they have 1/2 more rounds to go through. In the next round I think they must be getting lenient, a little bit. I think Schools will never accept this but I think this can be the tendency.
  3. Is there any disadvantage of being an Indian IT male in B School when it comes to dating? Damn  I hope, as usual, these poor people are not at the bottom of the priority list of those chics. OR are they on the list?
  4. Bungholio - Nice post. I am also almost in the same situation but.. I will have 1 Yr of H1 B left when I start my MBA in Fall 07. I plan is to get F1 for MBA. Complete MBA. 1 Yr of OPT Meantime get your H1B back for 1 Year. In the same period check your company gets GC on PERM process. (PERM will give GC in shorter time. At least you get labour cleared in less than 6 months so you are automatically eligible for 1 more year extension of H1.) Does this sounds like a good plan guys? The thing that is keeping my full time MBA hopes alive is my 1 year of H1 B period that will be available after my MBA. Any comments?
  5. I have IT background and after enough analysis and forum discussions I have shortlisted following schools. I am not interested in switching the career path and want to work in IT strategy consulting: 1. Wharton 2. Michigan Ross 3. CMU Tepper 4. Columbia 5. Stern 6. Kellog Few more schools I have in mind but I excluded are. 1.Hass 2.UCLA I have GMAT 710 and 6 years (3 india + 3 USA) experience. I have intentionally excluded Sloan after seeing the dings IT + India ppl got for class of 2008 (admissions411.com). I don't want to discourage anyone as everyone has there own strengths and weaknesses. Please note that, not all above schools are Tech related. GMATbong, can you please comment on my selection and profile? Can you comment on Hass and UCLA compared with my selected schools? Appreciate your response.
  6. Agree with mchakrain. One has to try his/her best in every other area irrespective of GMAT/GPA to be competetive.
  7. That's not a bad score and I think If you push little more you are in 700 club. Quant: I have never found any tough exercise but I will say do DIFFICULT and DIFFERENT Quant problems. I think KAPLAN is popular for diff. quant problems. You can use that. Verbal: I think you have done well on verbal. 38 Verbal and 48 quant will land you in 700 club. Focus on difficult problems in quant and don't loose focus from verbal. I am sure next time you will see 700+ on the screen on your final exam.
  8. This is my observation on KAP. I know KAP is not good indicator of your GMAT score but your avg KAP score + 100 will be your actual GMAT score. Don't worry too much @ the KAP Tests scores, but definitely use them, they are good for practice.
  9. Congrats yoda. Definitely a very good score. I understand your feelings about verbal section. Take some rest now and think what you want to do. I don't know what's your profile but depending upon your profile, you can judge whether you need to take the test again. 690 is definitely a very good score to apply to any school. Good luck!
  10. Hey guys - I have GMAT Official Verbal Review and Quant Review Books that I bought for $44 with shipping. If anyone is interested I can send both of these books for $30 with shipping. Books are brand new and bought just 1 month before the exam and used only once. If interested, please PM me.
  11. Congratulations Bungholio! Very good score.
  12. Hi Drexi - I know what you are thinking about verbal. That is the usual case. You feel that you are doing very well on verbal but when you see the result you realize that the things are not what you thougt. This is very common. I will suggest to concentrate on each and every question and try to increase the hit rate. Try for 95% hit rate on verbal. Verbal is very deceiving section because you never know when you make a mistake.
  13. There is no way to do that. Also, you should not spend time doing that. I will suggest you to concentrate on getting maximum hit rate out of the total questions.
