My bet is with E. In Lunch time, to relieve the pressure on restaurants(pressure of high customers), these performances are used. In Dinner, these performances are used to hold back the customers for dinner. So in one case, the customers are kept off the restaurants and in other are attracted. These are the efforts to use the park optimally. -

i was confused between C and D. A,B and E can not be correct as 'they' should go with plural. among C and D, C looks more alluring as it uses would which shows possibility.....but D uses past perfect tense which also makes sense. -

A sociologist is sufficiently well educated to read and understand scientific literature in a field other than her own. But from this statement, it is not clear that even after being well educated in reading the scientific literature, she is aware of the latest writings....might be the case that she hasn't read any such literature in last few years.... -
Correct Ordering of these numbers
Akash03111982 replied to newgmatgirl's topic in GMAT Problem Solving
answer should be 1 only as take x = .05 if you take positive numbers such as 1,2,3,4 than it will be 1/x,2x,x>2 or the like....but the answer options clearly depicts that they are looking out for decimals too bye the way, what is OA -
answer should be 35% i.e. A
-
May I have the answer options
-
demontor, I agree with your explanation.... but in the question, a statement which will negate the whole concept is asked....not the one which will support the statement...
-
there is no clear answer to this problem as C also can not be concluded on the basis of information given....but out of the lot, C is the best one...
-
It should be either B or C but can never be D. B--> if there is no middle class C--> author is taking for granted that the percentage of poor uncounted is same as rich uncounted. This is the gap between the evidence and the conclusion and should be the assumption.
-
It should be A. parneets 1, B is very alluring as it clearly goes with the statement that the overall government is inefficient. But there can be a case that there are very few civil servants who are holding positions of high importance and calling the terms from those posts. In that case, even a few Civil Servants could make the overall government inefficient. What is OA?
-
IMO C should be the answer. Ms. Siuzdak's reply clearly implies that he considers business experience similar to political experience. A can never be the answer. I was confused between C and E but after giving a thought picked C.What is OA?

Hi Erin, I don't know whether your reasoning is right or wrong but I am not able to understand it. It has never mentioned the sources of fluouroscent light and only mentioned continuous and non-continuous light. How the hospital thing comes into picture and fits it is still a mystery for me.
-
whether the substance was recently discovered or it is 50 times sweeter than sucrose is recently discovered? very confusing
-
x97agarwal could you pls let me know why d and why not c?
-
answer should be E take x = 3 and y= -2 ==> yes take x = 3 and y=-4 ==> no what is OA
-
But D is supporting Politician's claim....we need to refute it...
-
swiss boy,,,,shouldn't the remainder be 1......you have mentioned as 4.....though this is not very important to discuss
-
Answer should be A 1) unit digits greater than 6 implies that tens digit of z would be sum of tens digits of x and y and the carry over from the units digits of x and y(both >6) hence No is the answer 2)but nothing is mentioned here about the units digits of x and y.Their sum can be greater than 9...so not sufficient

Police,people,gentry,poultry are always plural....

However much lobbyists... (from the TM web site)
Akash03111982 replied to preeth's topic in GMAT Sentence Correction
B and C are wrong because b) Although many lobbyists will be able to increase support for the proposed bill 'will be able to' --> altered intent error c) Even though lobbyists can increase support for the proposed bill 'can'--> altered intent error -
A. Reared in a village where telephones were objects of curiosity B. Curious to know that telephones were objects of curiosity in the village she was reared up Curiousity twice....serving no purpose C. Being reared in the village where the telephone is object of curiosity Being.....redundant D. Reared in a village where telephones were an object of curiousness curiousness....wrong E. Reared up in a village in which telephones are objects of curiosity Rear itself mean rise up.....so reared up is wrong because it means rise up up same as that for comprises/consists of....we never use comprises of
-
Erin, It can't be C due to the following reasons: 1) subject is used in plural in C(while in original sentence,it is in singular) 2) tendencies is used in plural when tendency could work. 3
-
but what if x and y are both 8 than n will be 32 and hence we won't be able to get the answer from B alone.... Pls explain
