  1. Erin,

I am Pawan Nrisimha, a first year MBA student at the Haas school of business.

Really love Testmagic forum (have been part of it for 7 years now) and all its resources. Thanks for all your hard work.

In an effort to make the essay writing process easier and transparent to all applicants, we founded UberEssays (UberEssays). It's essentially an essay review market-place where the reviewers are current students from top 20 schools (Stanford, Haas, Cornell, Kellogg, McCombs etc) who help offer advice on essays to applicants.

We've just gone live and are trying to reach out to applicants. As a fellow entrepreneur, I wanted to touch base with you to see whether you can help us in anyway.

    Thanks,

    Pawan

  2. OK, tried UberEssays and got pretty good feedback on essays.
  3. This is a great response. It is true that ADCOMM is looking at the complete application process. I know that a 760 GMAT was rejected at Haas because of not very good essays and a poor interview. You need to make sure your overall package is good. For essays, be as school specific as possible and precisely answer the question. You should try uberessays.com for essay review help.
  4. It depends on the school you're applying to. You can try getting an opinion from alumni or current students of the schools you;re applying to. uberessays.com has some help on this.
  5. Thanks you so much for all the GMAT resources on this forum!! Can someone shed more light on how to tackle admissions essays? I am specifically applying to Haas, Anderson and Cornell. Do you know of someone who could offer essay reviews targeted specifically at each school? Please advise.
  6. Can someone shed more light on how to tackle admissions essays? I am specifically applying to Haas, ANderson and Cornell. Do you know of someoen who could offer essay reviews targeted specifically at each school? Please advise.
  7. Your essays are very important in the application process. If you nail them, you have a very good chance.
  8. I would strongly advise you to choose a school based on your future goals.
  9. There are multiple application rounds. Try to apply in the fist two and don't wait for the later rounds.
  10. Gave my GMAT last Saturday and am highly depressed. Got flu the day before the exam and had to give my exam with a 102F. Nothing much to share. Am planning to retake sometime next year. Practice Tests in chronological order: PP1:760 PR1:760 PR2:720 KAP1:600 KAP2:620 KAP3:620 KAP4:600 GMATPREP1:720 GMATPREP2:680 PP2:770 I don't know what went wrong. Was just hoping for something 700+. I have a question- Do you have to to do anything special to retake GMAT, or do I just register like the first time?

    You and I

A, B & C are all correct. But you don't need the "do". So, A is crisp and short.
  12. 1. "clearly" signals that it is the conclusion on the argument. A is the best. 2. This is based on the assumption that the degree of allergy that made students goto school nurses is similar now and 10 years ago. 3. The first BF is a goal that the argument tries to achieve or thinks can be achieved. A,B,C - OUT E: The 2nd BF doesn't contend anything. D is the answer.
  13. Sunil It's important not to think too far for inference questions. Usually, the answer to an inference question is fairly straight-forward. B: There's no evidence in the argument that radiocarbon dating can be confirmed by glacial evidence. B is out of scope. I think E is the right answer. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  14. Karma I know Kaplan material can be painful. Didn't they provide any explanation why the answer is D? They give explanations after the test.
  15. http://www.www.urch.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25813&highlight=large+hospitals
  16. I'd pick A. B: "them" is wrong usage. Language is singular. Should be "it" C: "counting it" seems ambiguous. D,E: Violated rule "between X and Y"
  17. Congratulations! and Good luck for your apps.
  18. Thanks! Karma. I wasn't sure what "which" in C refers to? Toads or infestation or infestation of toads.
  19. During the summer of 2002, the Outer Banks suffered a massive toad infestation, discouraging many vacationers from visiting the area. (A) (B) suffered from a massive toad infestation and discouraged © suffered a massive infestation of toads, which discouraged (D) was suffering a massive infestation of toads and discouraging (E) had suffered from a massive toad infestation and this discouraged It is a simple question but I missed it. Please post your explanations - this is what I'm looking for.
  20. "since" requires present perfect - "has contributed" - eliminate A. B it is.
  21. Answer should be A. I think Erin explained this somewhere. This is an example where there is repeated stress. Example: I want to do this, to go and study.
  22. A,D can be ignored because of incorrcet comparison. E is wordy. B & C both seem correct. The only reason I prefer B is because "within the core.......within the mantle" is parallel.
