  1. Folks, quick question - when exactly my offer expires? Is it 23:59 of 14th of April or 23:59 or 15th? Thank you very much!
  2. Is there anybody with no response from Cornell? Can anybody confirm rejections?
  3. To those accepted for admission to Penn and waitlisted for funding - are you planning to wait or have you got other offers that you're deciding to accept?
  4. I got the same offer. It's indeed very strange - they list this large amount as a total of potential packages that you need to apply every year for. They don't even mention whether this works like a waitlist, I mean whether it can change as time goes by.
  5. A wait list entry has just appeared on gradcafe. Can anybody confirm?
  6. Asked you because I was trying to figure out whether our little waiting group is rather strong or whether we are so bad that we don't even deserve an early rejection and it would come at a later time :D Given your profile, it seems more like the former one. Guys, fingers crossed.
  7. Me. I know how it feels, buddy. What is your profile if you don't mind sharing?
  8. And both of these entries say "S18" rather than "F18" meaning it's for the spring rather than fall. I'm really confused at this point.
  9. With respect to the current Pennsylvania's situation, hopefully it follows this model, but it's confusing as the number of rejections of Gradcafe is rather small. I just hope they won't send another batch of rejections after those waitlists...
  10. Btw these decisions are coming out really late. I would have thought that after 5-6 PM they wouldn't work on that.
  11. Thank you for the info. I know it sounds ridiculous to ask for things like the initial, but when a hard time hits, mind goes crazy and tries to detect patterns.
  12. I thought such order would actually make more sense but... If it starts with acceptances - your hopes are slowly diminishing and you are starting accepting the fact. If it starts with rejections - your hopes are growing and then you might be slapped in your face quite hardly.
  13. To the folks that got rejected by Penn - would you mind sharing what your surname's initial is? It seems like they sent a half of their rejections and I'm just trying to figure out whether they sent it to, for example, the roughly the first half of the alphabet. Would be much appreciated. Such a hard time.
  14. Such a quiet day... Where are you, Princeton? Where are you, Penn?
  15. The strike wouldn't affect it at all. The proportion of participating academics at top schools is tiny and even if they don't deliver lectures/classes, they would be even more likely to work on PhD admissions instead.
  16. Even if this week is not the week, the next one will be, or the next next one. People in this thread say that this is the week starting from the first week of February :)
  17. I'm currently having a funded offer from OSU and WL from Duke. I think Princeton/UPenn might be a reach if I'm very lucky. I'm also extremely anxious, because if Duke/Princeton/UPenn don't work out, I'll most likely do RA for next two years to be more competitive in the 2020 cycle.
  18. I get you, they should come very soon indeed. I'm waiting for Princeton and UPenn, hoping they'll get back today. Princeton might be later in the week, but UPenn should really be today based on previous years. Good luck to you, hopefully our future will be sorted out soon!
  19. What are the schools that you're anticipating to hear back from this week?
  20. Thank you very much! Duke is a perfect fit for me. If this doesn't work out, I'll probaly do RA for two years and re-apply. I've got a funded offer from OSU, but I'm hesitating. I mean, it's a great school and initially I was very happy about the idea of going there, but after I've seen that Duke is a potential reach, I'll probably try to make it happen.
  21. Thank you! Do you mean you received it from Duke as well? I'm just thinking, if they offer this to all their waitlisted students, the list has to be sort of short, otherwise it would be a huge burden to accommodate all. Is Duke your top choice at the moment or you've got some offers from schools you'd prefer to attend?
  22. Wow, well done buddy! Good luck to you for your PhD!
