  1. Hello people - Anyone heard from Berkeley, Duke or NYU for PhD in OB? Thank you.
  2. Hi I was considering Phd at a University in Toronto, Canada. However I am not aware of the Visa's that one and one's dependent get in Canada. Could someone help with any relevant info/links? I am particularly curious to know whether dependent is allowed to work. Best regards Santosh Srinivas
  3. Dear all I am intending to apply for a Phd in Management from US schools and was keen to know if my wife (an artist), who would come on dependent visa (not sure if it would be F- or J- category) would be allowed to earn through teaching art lessons. Any help with clarification or pointers would help as this is a crucial decision factor for us. Look forward, Best regards Santosh India
  4. Thanks so much. I was looking at OB area and interested in Oxford, Insead, Cambridge and LBS. Would highly appreciate any contacts to Phd grads/students in management science from such schools. Best, Santosh
  5. Hi I am new to this forum. I would like know how European universities compare to the ones in the US on Doctoral programmes in Management. Appreciate any pointers, Best Santosh
  6. Hi all I'm looking for a list of all full-time MBA programs that span for 10-16 months. I would be grateful if you kindly let me know of any references on the same. Thanks in advance Santy
  7. Men Women Workers 48 16 64 Non-Workers Total = 100 So, % female workers/workers = (16/64)*100 = 25%
  8. I still don't understand the method of approach. -Santy
  9. Wording is very confusing. 1. If the stem asks for the probability that neither of the cards is blue, then = (6/8) * (5/7) = 30/56 = 15/28 2. If the stem asks for the probability that both the cards are not blue, then = 1 - [probability that both are blue] = 1 - [(2/8)*(1/7)] = 1 - (1/28) = 27/28 HTH
  10. The stem says it is number of integers (not primes) less than 1. So it is p-1.
  11. I don't think there is any shortcut for this
  12. E is right This is definitely a medium/easy bin problem. All you need to do is reduce LHS and RHS to powers of same numbers and then equate the powers.
  13. Yes agree with p -1
  14. 12! has 12 ,10,8,6,4,2 even nos. 12 = (2^2)*3 10 = 2*5 8 = 2^3 6 = 2*3 4 = 2^2 2 = 2^1 Sum up all the powers of 2 and you get 10. However, I'm not sure what's the logic behind the shortcut.
  15. First of all thanks a ton for your replies. I know GMAT is just one part of the selection criteria. But, let me give you my brief background. I'm from India, with a 4 yrs of IT experience. I work for a reputed MNC as a project lead. This apart, I did my engineering from a reputed college in India and ended up with a decent CGPA of 3.3. As you are aware most of the MBA aspirants from India are from the IT background. It is very difficult for the universities to differentiate one from the other unless the candidate has extremely good score, acads and essays. This is one reason I want to get my score close to 740. I know anything more than that is beyond my capabilities. One other reason for retaking is that 700 is below the avg. of top 10 business schools. Given my background, if I have to have a wee bit chance, then I guess I need above avg. score. I'm still considering whether to retake or not. Your opinion will be very helpful to me in deciding the same. Thanks Santy
  16. IMO E. C sounds so wrong. Where't the question from? I guess OA is wrong.
  17. C for me too. "their" in A, B and D does not sound correct. "now" in A and E are redundant.
  18. IMO E is the closest. A) run-on B) illogical cause-effect C) illogical contrast D) illogical contrast E) Sounds correct, but no parallelism after but.. What's the OA?
  19. What's the OA? Can Erin throw some light here?
  20. Even I agree with D. But, where did you pick this Q from? Is the OA reliable?
  21. This one was tough. Agree with E. Only E tells us the time.
  22. "The amount of x" => it is a number. One number can only be greater than the other, not more.
  23. Yeah Piyush. E sounds wrong now. However, C is still not parallel.
