Hi Rani, You seem to be very desperate with your situation. First thing for you to do is to calm down. I think you already have enough material to get through this test. I have gone through Longman, but found it misleading as the examples in that book are not like the questions we encounter in the real exam. I suggest you go through the example and explanation given in the official guide and try to understand what they are relally looking for in our answers. once you have got the idea what your anwser should contain then practice examples from the various books that you have. You can use the templates explained in Princeton to make your answer. stick to the pattern of Opening sentence + example 1 + example 2 + closing sentence. This will take care of your timing as well. I have given a template in one of my thread April 28 Toefl results. You can go through it and see if it is helpful for you. Try to find a partner for practice. Hi Friends, I am new to the NAPLEX forum. I would like to know which books are to be followed to prepare for NAPLEX. Is there any particular book for calculations? I would really appreciate if some one can give a detailed reply to my query as many people can benifit from this information. Thanks tseveteran, Sorry for delay in replying. I used to record my responses and listen to them. I would record my response to a question a number of times till I was satisfied with the response. My formula for time management was Opening sentence+ example 1 + example 2 + concluding statement. you need to figure out your own strategy. All the best Aamer

Hi Friends, For Q 5 I selected one of the solutions provided by the speaker and spoke on it. For Q 3 we have to state the opinion of man/woman about the announcement and give his/her reason for it. For this Q I noted down points in this manner Opinion: the m/w ______ with the announcement/notice regarding _________ made by ________ reason 1: reason 2: Conclusion: for these reasons______________ Look for the two reasons that one of the speaker gives, try to guess the question, which is usually based on the opinion of the person speaking more in the conversation. In Q4 The reading para usually describes or defines something and the speaker supports it by giving some examples. Main topic: ( state the main topic, if you are asked to explain or define a term then you say that in the main topic ) , the speaker explains this by giving 2 examples Example 1: Example 2: Conclusion: And for Q6 we need to summarize a lecture, again the speaker describes something and gives 2 examples to support it. Here you need to state the main idea of the lecture and explain it by giving 2 examples from the talk. Main idea: According to the professor/speaker ______ is ______ reason/example 1: reason/example 2: Conclusion: This is how________ It is always better to give conclusion, just restating what you have said in the opening sentence, it will make the reply look complete. But if you are unable to conclude do not panic as long as you have been speaking on what has been asked, you will be fine. Try to understand the question and and reply only to what has been asked. Unless asked for there is no need to summarize the reading passages in Q 3 & 4. In the lectures and conversations there is a lot of additional information, which is irrelevant. you need to filter it and look for main examples. Hope this information helps. GOOD LUCK Aamer

Hi, This was my third attempt, I changed the way I took the notes. I just wrote down only 3-4 sentences for each quesions on the integrated task. For Example Q5: When the question started i wrote down on the paper Problem: Soln1: Soln2: and then flled this template as I listened to the conversation. Which made it easy for me to give reply. Alhamdulillah, I got my results for the April 28th exam, I finally passed the exam with the grace of Allah, My scores are R-26, L-28, S-26 and W-30. I also thank all on this forum, whose inputs and suggestions also helped me to prepare for the exam. I wish all those who are struggling to clear this exam good luck, may Allah help you all in getting throught the exam. aamer

Hi rani, You do not get the scores of Reading and Listening seperately, you will have to wait for 3 weeks to get all your results. Hope this answers your question aamer

Hi rarin, I feel there r a lot of grammatical mistakes in ur essay. Though the content is good u need to work on improving ur grammer and the tenses. for example: ur first sentence should be " Among the movies that are serious, amusing and entertaining, I like serious movies the most." in the second paragraph the second sentence should be " The movie is a story of two men, a Jew and a German." and the concluding sentence should be " I always enjoy watching serious movies that make me think". These r few examples and there r other mistakes in the body of the essay. Read ur essay again and try to improve on it. Hope this helps, no one is perfect, but can be one by practice.
