  1. Agree with E. St1 : Distance between house and gas station could be anything. Insuff. St2 : Gas station is 8 miles away from the house. Insuff. Combine. Distance between house and gas station is 8 miles. If the guy does not go to the gas station the distance is reduced by 4 miles. house ---> 8 miles ---> gas station ---> x miles ---> store. Total = x+8. house ---> y miles ---> store. Now, y = x+8-4 = x+4 (we dont know x.. right?). Answer : E
  2. Yes! "predicts..will" is just right :)

  5. To me it looks like a matter of "that vs which". A : is probably right. "which" -> non-essential information in the sentence. D : Major error : "that" is restrictive (essential information in the sentence). "which" would have been far better. This has been discussed earlier .. older threads.
  6. "more numerous" -> redundancy! Good catch YODA! :)
  7. Is this tommorow? Just curious. Sorry for the spellings "comparison". :)
  8. Tangled Universe - Melodies Form The Universe
  9. My guess.. E? I really think that the lasr line is more or less an assumption the author makes. (I know assumptions are not stated in an argument)
  10. Opt A. The accountant (almost solely) relies on the comparison drawn on sales figures for both the years. To weaken this we can show that sales figures for both the years are different, (-> if menus have changed over an year.. things are different.. and you have the answer) and hence the comparison does not stand legit.
  11. 1. I dont understand why C is the answer. I doubt and I'm sure the answer can be subjected to doubt. 2. Is the complete argument partitioned into 2 boldface portions ?? Looks like. In any case I agree with A. :)
  12. PLEASE remove the spoiler, Chitralekra. It introduces BIAS.
  13. 1. D (People/Person comparision) 2. C (Car to Car comparision) 3. C (investigation...has + parallelism) 4. http://www.www.urch.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31835 Cheers!
  14. I've been on sitting on a heavy pile of work. I've been travelling and I've decided to push off the D-Day. Moreover, I dont have the experience required to get into a school as of now..1 year 3 moths (approx). So I'll wait and hang around @ testmagic! I'm tuned in! :)
  15. You can get a 4 on this. Maybe a 4.5 if you chalk out the typos and format the sentences (punctuate the sentences -> more clarity). Dont forget to indent the paragraphs. Maybe someday the internet will be some pervasive that you wouldnt need to go to the workplace at all. Assuming you have people staying with you at home, you'd never ever feel lonely. As a matter of fact you'd probably crave to be alone sometimes. Dont use direct references.. use "one" rather than "you". Ex : "you must .." should be "one must...". Try to plug in an example in this very paragraph to elaborate the point.
  16. Sanjay says "the grass is growing". Boycott says "what rue-bbish pitches!" Bolwer's GRAVEYARD(S)!
  17. Agree with scmba. "proportions" is not the same as "quantities".. C is good for what can be made out of the argument. The second line of the argument is not clear enough... nonetheless, try to use it.
  18. Looks like A to me. The argument says "85 out of 100 kids affected with ADD watch TV for 5+ hours". This is not a causal relation. So we can rule out E, which tries to trick us by saying that there could be other causes and that the argument does not include these "other" causes. A is fine.
