  1. I totally agree with A. The author claims that "more than twice as many citizens are now enjoying the arts", that means the number of citizens enjoying the arts increase twice. A says "most visitors to one museum also visit the other two", that means 30,000 citizens who visit the first museum also visit the other two museums, the number of tickets sold increases but the actual number of citizens who like arts does not increase. This underminds the author's claim.
  2. I was thinking of B and C, finally picked C. Can't be D. The passage mentions the rate, but D talks about the number. They are not the same. E is just an example (not the main idea) A is not proper.
  3. E first came in my mind too, but I didn't pick it up because E says"Practical considerations are most important in the selection of a subject for a biography"while para 2 says " Some of the reasons are purely practical." Anyway, I didn't choose the right answer either.
  4. What you can improve is SC which is easier than RC.
  5. IMO E For protection from predators, as well as from desert temperature extremes, tortoises of all ages burrow into the earth. However, if rabbits and rodents are scarce, larger mammalian predators may dig tortoises out of their burrows, devouring even mature tortoises despite their hardened shells.
  6. IMO B is correct. If the cancer is due to water, the neighbours who use the same water also incur increasing cases of cancer. But since that does not happen, water is not the reason for cancer. Hence B undermines the spokeperson.
  7. Question: What is the largest common factor of X and Y? Since X and Y are prime number, so the only common factor of X and Y is 1. Can I say " 1 " is the LARGEST common factor of X and Y? Thanks.
  8. Do you guys have a formula for remainder question? I realize that the remainder question appears frequently in the test but most of the time I just try to put some specific numbers and but I think it takes time. Is there any better way to solve? Thanks.
  9. Oh here it is. I think he should write "no." instead of "no"
  10. Can anyone explain the phrase "if p is a prime no greater than 2 " in the question? p is no greater than 2, thus p = 2. Is there any error with the phrase?
  11. Why not C? x= number of those tested for infection Stm 2=> 0.1x = positive Stm 1=> 7/8 * 0.1x = have the infection => the percentage of those tested was accurate.
  12. But what would we do with the intersection (4,3)? I don't see why we need it, but I think GMAT usually does not give any unnecessary information
  13. I think statement 2 alone is suff. Since square root (x^2 - y^2) >= 0, and x=0, thus in order to (-y^2)>= 0, y must be 0. Therefore x+y = 0 => square root (x^2 - y^2) = 0 = x+y Suff. =>B
  14. Hi Anshu1: If I subscribe to GMAT FOCUS, how many test do I have? Only one?
