  1. If you don't mind, can you share the details of MSU funding and inform whether they have some kind of visit day? thanks!
  2. I'm waiting too. One of the two posts received a fellowship so I guess it is reasonable to get an early offer. But if the other normal funding offer is true, we might not make the first round at least
  3. Did anyone hear from Cornell AEM? They usually send out admissions early Feb..
  4. I guess Top 7 from South Korea won't give you any advantage at all unless there have been many students from your home uni who study in US. I'm Korean and actually even I am not sure what top 7s are.. But I think you have a good profile and great experience in one of the decent schools in US, which may be helpful. The lab RA expeirence would also be good if you explained like how that experience affected you to further study economics or improved your research capabilities. Anyway good luck!
  5. Yeah that's what I guess too. But I'm not sure whether I did some improvement during the two years.. What was that for you if you don't mind? Why did you apply again and what did you do during the last few years?
  6. I got funded offers from Syracuse, UC Riverside, SUNY Albany and the one I'm currently in. Have reapplied to all of the three programs this time. There is one posting on gc about UCR but no email to me so I got a little bit nervous. Can I ask why you're applying again?
  7. What do you guys think is the possibility of getting into the program that I applied and was admitted for fall 2016? I got into one of the other admitted programs but am applying for this cycle again..
  8. Anyone heard from UC Davis Ag econ? There is a post on gradcafe that he/she got the admission in early January. I did not make the first round of any ag/applied econ programs that I've applied. sigh...
  9. Anyone heard from Purdue Agricultural economics? I remember their deadline is Feb 15th but got an email to check website - rejected. I'm the one posted in gradcafe. I'm really not sure why I was denied this early, even before the application deadline.
  10. Well I don't agree with Egg's link about the top 10 univs of Korea. That ranking is based on 'global' index. Plus, I even don't agree with student93's idea on top 4. SNU, Yonsei, and Korea U are definitely top 3 schools but I'm not sure about Sogang. Instead, Sungkyunkwan looks better or at least they're in the same level. Sungkyunkwan is a larger program with quite a better performance though.
  11. Hi everyone! I got admissions which includes UC Riverside (funded) and Rutgers, Houston, and Clemson. The thing is that I have not heard about the open houses of any of these programs, so I'm wondering if there is someone who knows about the open houses. And what does it mean if they don't invite me although I'm admitted? (in case that they invited other students :( ) thank you guys!
  12. Hi everyone I'm an international student and I want to ask you guys.. when you say "top50" programs in econ phd, what is the standard source of ranking? Is it US news ranking or something? and.. how about uc santa cruz, rutgers u, syracuse u, and u of houston? Are they considered to make top50? I just wanna know the general idea of US students or society about those schools.. they are (except houston) just around 50th in US news ranking. Thanks!
  13. Has anyone heard from UC Santa Cruz? I had an interview with them and there was a posting on GC which says unofficial acceptance was given and the decision will be made on thursday or friday. I'm waiting and waiting and waiting...
  14. Hi everyone! This is my first post. I look forward to having an interview and this is my very first graduate interview. Any idea about the kinds of question? What am I supposed to talk when asked about "research experience"? (the research question, methods, and results..?) Thanks a lot in advance!
