You don't need an I 20 official letter to book the dates. you have to produce it when you appear for the interview. If you are applying for MS write 2 yrs. if Phd write appropriately. However much you write they will let you stay only till you complete your studies :) That is what you should tell the officials at embassy too that you intend to return after you complete studies otherwise in most cases they deny your visa.

Has anyone applied to arizona state univ? I sent in my official transcripts a week in US itself before the deadline. But still the online status says waiting for transcripts. I called up the grad admissions office to find out but they denied to tell me & also told me they won't be able to let me know that for another 3 weeks. Has someone else applied to asu & facing the same prob? Thx in advance.

Review the q's. Take the test again after sometime instead of doing it immediately. That way you can try to get the max out of PPs. Learn the strategies once you find out where you are going wrong. Good luck

what i read on plagiarism.org is that universities employ agencies to check on the web. i'm not bothered about someone else will copy my essay. When they check online the essay i have submitted here may come up & how can they come to know that i'm the same person who has submitted online. I'm personally going through a harrowing experience. Univ application is a huge deal for me & i don't want to end up a plagiarist for submitting my essay online.

Plagiarism is a serious issue here in the US. check out plagiarism.org. I posted my essay first here on the forum before submitting the application. Now i'm really getting worried what will happen. I have no time left to rewrite the whole essay.

My SOP: What started off as an obligation to complete my undergraduate education turned into my aspiration in life. Although I had been studying engineering for three years, it was not until my final year that I gained practical exposure. As an intern at the Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), Bangalore I worked on a project that dealt with detecting partial discharges in power capacitors using an acoustic emission technique. There, I was fascinated by the electrical equipments, testing, research facilities and above all the scientists who were experts in the field of Power Systems Engineering. During this short period, I gained enough exposure to motivate myself to delve deeper. I returned to CPRI after graduation, as a research associate, on a project that identified the faults with power transformers. During this one year period, I was greatly influenced by the scientists at CPRI who inspired me to pursue an education that will not only supplement but also enhance my work experience. However, before I embarked on my further studies, I felt the need to explore alternative options. Thus, for a year I worked as a technical support executive in a multinational company.
