It looks like you got a very good score in Naplex, congratulations :) Just follow dolly advice. Tell them how much time you devoted for the exam, what books you used and your prenaplex score. Support your point with as many documents as possible.

I'm gonna try to answer your questions one by one: 1- Work opportunities as a pharmacy intern are rare if you wanna get paid. Working as a volunteer intern is not difficult but needs a little search and visits to pharmacies and hospitals in your city. To work as a volunteer intern, you must have FPGEC certificate and a social security number in most of states. You can get a SSN easily if you have a green card. When you finish your intern hours and pass Naplex & Law exams, you will get a pharmacist license. 2- Is it worth leaving homeland? I can't answer this question. Everyone has his own priorities. 3- Things are complicated in the beginning. But once you get a pharmacist license, you will get a spot with some effort. Working as a pharmacist in the states takes time and effort. The main obstacles are passing Toefl and getting a sponsorship. If you have a green card, Toefl is the main thing. The other exams are not easy but you can pass them if you study hard and know which material to study.

Having a green card make your life much easier. In this case, you will not need a sponsorship and you can work as a volunteer to finish your intern hours. Working as a volunteer is not that hard but be prepared to work for the entire year without getting paid. If you can do that, go for it for sure. But at the beginning you have to worry about passing Toefl, It is not an easy task at all. Good luck............

Hi miraal, you can get an internship license in your state easily if you have FPGEC certification and a SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. Once you get your license, you can start working as a VOLUNTEER intern and count your hours. If you want to get paid, you have to find an employer willing to soponsor you to change your visa to H1b which is not an easy task.

You MUST rescore. I had the same situation as I got 23 in speaking which became 26 after rescoring. I'm not saying it's for sure but you have a very good chance.

Hi LishaD, most of states allow no more than 50 or 60 hours per week. This means that you need at least 6 months to finish 1500 hours.

Excellent situation :) As you said, you can finish your exams first in Texas. Then after passing, you can start your internship. Try to finish your hours as soon as possible. If you don't find a paid intern position, ask to work as a volunteer to count your hours. I know that Tx gives 2 years to finish hours and exams, call the board to confirm.

Yes, you can take NAPLEX/MPJE before starting your intern in TX. Tx will give you an inter license for 3months starting from FPGEC certificate issue date. You can't finish your internship within 3 months and they will not allow you to continue before passing your exam. Some people take the exams first before starting the intern while others work first for a short period (3 months) then take the exams then continue for the rest of their internships.

I know that Tx gives 2 years from the date the internship is completed and you say that Louisiana allows 1 year from the issue date of the intern license! Really hard to believe. If I can't finish the hours and sitting for the exams within this year, can I renew my intern license? If yes, for how long? I feel like finishing everything in one year is so hard!

Hi friends, I have only one question, do intern hours expire? I mean is there any time limits between finishing the hours and getting the license? I know that the the time limit in Tx is 2 years as mentioned in their website: "Internship hours may be used for the purpose of licensure for no longer than two years from the date the internship is completed" What about other states? I'm asking this question because I may not sit for Naplex and MPJE immediately after finishing my intern hours. Thanks......

Hi, You can sit for FPGEE and TOEFL on any visa, no problem at all. The fun part starts after that, when you apply for intern license and sit for Naplex. They all need a social security number. Being on H4 visa means that you don't have a ssn which means also that you have to change your status to H1b. If for any reason you have a ssn, you can get your license and start doing your intern hours for free as a volunteer without changing your status. Finding a sponsor to change your status is not easy, it needs alot of effort and LUCK. So, GOOD LUCK :)

Thanks nplx and caymanrx for your quick responses. I have been told that some states accept transfering some of the intern hours "like 300 or 400 hours" from foreign countries. Are you sure it's not true?

Hi intern10, I didn't know that! But are you sure it will not make any problems later? I mean when you have a real SSN. Anyway, if you somehow can sit for naplex early, don't forget that you have only one year in most of states "2 years for TX" starting from the NAPLEX date to pass the law exam and the internship hours.
