hey iceberg.. i know the feeling with the vocabulary.. its common.. keep revising the wordlist .. remember however that the wordlist is not enough.. keep doing practice ex s ... for quant ,do a lot of geometry ... my paper was full of it.. try getting ur hands on RD Sharma , std 12 cbse text book for permutation and combination... it really helped me .. this is provided u are from india of course..

hey congrats !!! and ur score will be sent by ets in two weeks time...after that it depends on how efficient the postal system is in ur country

hey ur gre is not the only criteria for admission... and unless ur score increases by more than a hundred points, its going to be a total waste! just think of this possibility... what if ur quants score drops? is it worth it?

spend a lot of time on ur first ten questions .. they more or less set ur score... i had one and a half mins for the last 8 or nine questions so i guessed them without reading and still got 800 !

no classes necessary ... u can prepare at home... best way to do it for gre

dont count ur eggs b4 they hatch ... i was getting 770, 750 , 700 in my gre practice tests , verbal... the real exam only 580 !! so make ur decision after ur score is in ur hand. and ya, ur score is not everything

as far as i know , unless u wanna do creative writing or something, ur analytical writing does not matter... 3.5 is an average score ... i would say dont risk ur quant score..actually i was in a dilemma too about whether i need to take up gre again ....got 580 in verbal but really dont wanna risk the 800 in quant... when u decide on the course u want , why dont u go to the universities web site and find out if they have a specification on analytical... i remember seeing 3.5 for most of them

if u are planning to do MS , there s no necessity to do it again. its not necessary that ur score should necessarily go up... u have a 790 in quant .. if that drops, there s no point in pulling up ur score.. if u r looking for ph d then i donno

i did my wordlist from barrons ... then took up tests... i would suggest the big book coz questions sometimes get repeated from there

they do look at ur verbal score sometimes in ur visa interview... no point in getting a degree just for the heck of it ...imagine what u are throwing away just because u dont wanna study for a couple of more weeks ! this is ur future we are talking about .. one month of preparation is something u can afford !!!

my paper was full of geometry questions. didnt have time in the end.. had to rush up in the last minute.... it caught me off guard coz i always finish my practice tests 10 mins early... so be fast on ur exam day... some of my friends got normal distribution.. probability also seems to be important... u need to be good in fractions! do a lot of quant comparison questions so that on the day of the exam , u dont have to spend timeon this...u might leave it all thinking that u can do these sums on the exam day... dont do that ... speed is what counts.... pay a lot of attention to ur first ten questions... esp the first five , u MUST get them right coz they are the ones that decide ur score !

no average scores ... ur highest score will be reported ... but the second attempt will be mentioned... dont go by wat u get in ur practice tests... really doesnt matter all that much... i got an average of 1450 in all practice but got 1380 in the final exam.. my frind who never crossed 1100 in her practice tests got 1370 in the final exam... just hope and pray that u are lucky on the day of the exam! for ur verbal.. finish the wordlist if possible.. and start working on the verbal section of ets big book... heard that really works

why dont u try thr big book shalabh_jain vbmenu_register("postmenu_188362", true); ? i didnt get the time to do it b4 my gre but i heard that its quite good! my paper was full of geometry and comparisons! a couple of questions on permutation and combination involving probability.. do kaplan if u can get it oh yeah, and barrons cd is of a pretty good std ... for my test, i got things that i never expected to find... my quant was unbelievably lengthy... verbal was of a higher std than princeton or powerprep and barrons did not help for the actual verbal test :(

hey .. i got a score similar to urs... doing ece... what course do u have in mind? u guys are really interested in cs ? but isnt it better to just get a job here for this ? i thought india was doing damn well !! a couple of ppl i know had to come back to india after masters and had trouble repaying their loan ... but this could be one in a million ... check out all the details b4 u guys decide... i am from ece too !! and toefl, i saw a couple of universities specifying a 230 score ... as far as i know its only a formality and its not as big a deal as gre

do ur barrons wordlist... u have enough time ... take your powerprep tests , like say 2 weeks b4 ur exam.. but u can expect ur gre to be on the tougher side... do a lot of quant comparison... i got quite a few geometry questions and permutation combination with probability.. good luck!
