My mother earns approximatelly 1500 litas. Is it a lot? I don't know. It's quite slow, but I don't complaint.

Yeah, that seems like a lot of money, but the Internet is pretty important.

Hmm,... gotta do some serious spamming! ;)

But not now (It costs a lot to surf the net at day time). catch ya later!

I have broadband both at home (when they eventually get around to activating it!!) and the office. At home, the cost of broadband connection is included in the rent so I am not exactly sure how much it costs.

I do have access to 2 free ISPs. But for 400 Baht (US$9.50)/month, you can have a 24x7 connection in Thailand.

Broadband costs about 10x more, but some apartment complexes include them in the rent.

Really??? Only more than $9.00/month for 24x7 connection????? :o:o:o

I can't believe. Could you confirm this AmigoRo? ;)

Yes sure !

My dad, who is in Sri Lanka, pays US$6/month for 30 hrs / month connection.

In England, a 24x7 dial up connection will cost you about US$17, while cable modem costs around US$40

Whoohoo we're already in the sixth page. A mighty jump from the second page yesterday night.

Anyway, regarding the Internet, I use a cable connection here (its pretty well established in my place - Bangalore, India although other cities are yet to tap that service). I had to shell out Rs.7800 (abt $155) for my modem and I pay a fixed charge of Rs. 650 (abt $13) a month for the Internet Service. I get decent bandwidth (although not as much as leased lines). The cable Internet providers supposedly limit the bandwidth they provide on purpose. But still, I get to use the Net without worries about my phone charges.

Well that predictation is just from a 17-year-old student and considered his hobby only. You know what I love to gather music information in a whole notebook-my 'usic Diary, in which I copy info about chart toppers, big award winners, etc since 1999. I did dream of being a music critic, which can hardly come true for many sucking reasons. When I get rich in the future I swear to open a CD shop just for fun and become a music journalist. At present my main source of enjoying songs is watching MTV at my friends' house lolz...

********

I'll vote for 'Dilemma' as the cutest song of the year. Its seems to be one of the most educational rap songs under parents' eyes :p...

I love Norah Jones but dislike Ashanti. Erykah Baduh sounds cool to me and Eminem's are of my favourite cds. I do like both Alan Jackson and Dixie Chicks. The only thing I've kept wondering about is the reasons why Alanis Morissette couldn't earn any nods this year.... I think I adore both heryl Crow and her. Two female-rockers, two voices, two styles... very charming.

Some other losers are Celine Dion ('A New Day Has Come') and Kenny Chesney ('No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems'). They both dominated the Billboard 200 with multi-platinum honor yet were ignored by NARAS. Poor couple!

Sickest Single should go to Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'. I hate that song so much....

Like every other year, teenpop representatives such as Britney or *NSYNC only appeared on the list as no more than puppets. Maybe the reason is merely to increase the sale of the GRAMMY Nominations CD.

*********

And Sri, I myself haven't seen 'O' Brother, Where Art Thou' yet but did have a chance to listen to the full soundtrack. Is the song you mentioned is 'O Dead' (Ralph Stanley)? Oh 'I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow'???
